This was one of the few trees at Crescent Rocks that had already lost all of its leaves, and it looked incredible (and a little eerie) against the dark blue sky at sunset.

Crescent Rocks is a climbing crag located on the Virginia – West Virginia state line at a place called Raven Rocks. With three faces to choose from, the location offers almost 30 mapped routes, along with several variations, providing a variety of climbs from 5.4 to 5.13. On top of it all, the views are breathtaking.

I took an absurd number of photos during our climb of The Nose at Looking Glass Rock, and this was one of my favorites. The unidentifiable figure rappelling down the rock face would be my brother, Jonathan.

Lots of new images from my Summer Vacation to Atlanta

Just finished uploading a slew of images from my trip to Atlanta this year. My brother and I spent about a week with our cousin and his family traveling around the southeast United States to do some climbing and other unexpected activities.

There are two new galleries available from the trip, featuring the Sandrock Climbing Crag and our multi-pitch climb of The Nose at Looking Glass Rock. There are also a few more random collections of photographs from our caving adventure at PettyJohns Cave, a day in the sun at Allatoona Lake, and some free-style bouldering on a homemade Woody.

On the last day of our vacation in Atlanta we went out to Allatoona Lake for a day of fun on the water. Activities included jet skiing, water skiing, kneeboarding, and extreme relaxing.

Looking Glass Rock

Looking Glass Rock is located in the Pisgah National Forest in Brevard, North Carolina. Featured in this album is a climb called “The Nose”, which consists of four pitches and 500 feet of trad climbing.

The Sandrock Climbing Crag is located in Alabama and offers a wide variety of climbing opportunities for beginners and experts alike. The photos in this collection were taken over the course of a two-day trip to Sandrock with my cousin, his wife, and my brother.
